Meet Joe F. Bozeman III, an Assistant Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Georgia Tech, who also holds a courtesy appointment in the School of Public Policy. His research focuses on developing equitable circularity, urban carbon management, and food-energy-water strategies. For AI4OPT, he works under the Ethical AI thrust and focuses on the intersection of social equity and electrification of the transportation systems.
Joe has over a decade of experience spanning both private and public sectors, and his award-winning work has been featured in major media outlets such as Popular Science, the Geographical Magazine, and NPR.
He really enjoys transdisciplinary collaboration and believes approaching research questions in this way is a must for addressing the complex, 'wicked' challenges of our time.
Beyond academia, Joe finds joy in sound engineering across various music genres, creating multimedia content for science communication, and engaging in sports/athletics both as a spectator and participant. Joe also enjoys role-playing and sports video games.
