On September 25th, 2020, the United States and United Kingdom signed a joint declaration on cooperation in AI with the intent to enhance collaborative efforts on research and innovation between the US and UK in developing AI solutions for mutual benefit.

Following this declaration, in May 2022 the NSF and Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) organized the “Findings and Recommendations of the May 2022 US-UK AI Workshop,” which included attendees, AI4OPT Director Pascal Van Hentenryck and other representatives of a broad range of world-class AI expertise from academia, industry, and government from across US and UK.
