Jihye Jung!

Jihye Jung is a Fulbright scholar from Korea, who will be joining the AI4OPT team for a year.

She holds a BS (2015), MS (2017), and Ph.D. (2022) in Industrial Management Engineering from Korea University, Seoul experience in mathematical optimization, particularly discrete models, and their practical applications.

Her goal at AI4OPT is to tackle complex optimization problems that cannot be effectively handled by traditional methods, and believes that machine learning can offer innovative solutions to these challenges.

She is eager to collaborate with the AI4OPT community and welcomes discussions and contributions to ongoing research. With a passion for addressing practical problems through optimization, Jihye enjoys identifying problem structures and formulating elegant equations to provide solutions, with the hope of discovering new theoretical advancements. She also aims to promote industrial engineering awareness in Korea.

Outside of work, Jihye has a background in contemporary dance and is considering joining an adult ballet class. She is also a fan of Korean food and invites anyone from the team interested in sharing some delicious Korean cuisine during lunchtime.
