The AI4OPT High School Teacher Training Program is looking for teachers who are interested in building artificial intelligence or data science courses/programs at their schools. Participants in the program will be divided into two groups:
- Teachers who already use AI materials in their classes (Expert Group)
- Teachers who would like to build and use materials in their classes (Novice Group)
Participants will receive training at Georgia Tech, seven days for the Expert Group and five days for the Novice Group. Training will include an Introduction to AI, working on current AI labs created at AI4OPT, building a repository of resources for high school materials aligned with Georgia standards, developing new materials for courses at high schools and the Seth Bonder Camps.
The program will be led by members of AI4OPT and Ms. Bethann White from Drew Charter School. The program aims to achieve the following outcomes:
- Course materials to be used in high school classrooms.
- New assignments and materials to be used in the AI4OPT Seth Bonder Camps.
- Creation of Online groups (Slack, Discord, etc…) for continued mentoring and assistance, and a resources repository.

Submission information
Applications must be submitted before May 1, 2025. Candidates will be selected by June 1, 2025, and the program is planned to start on June 25, 2025.
NOTE: Important information regarding Georgia Tech lodging:
Participants will reside in on-campus housing during their training. Please note that GT Housing is unable to accommodate any children or dependents under the age of 18 in the dorms. Additionally, any additional guests traveling with participants will not be covered by AI4OPT. Alternative off-campus housing can be arranged if needed.
