AI4OPT’s collaboration with Kids Teach Tech brings the Seth Bonder Camp to high-school students in California, and virtual to students anywhere! Kids Teach Tech empowers youth to seize the technology opportunities of their future. They enable students to become teachers who create and teach classes for their community. Kids Teach Tech teaches free classes to youth in libraries, schools, non-profit groups, and live-online across California, the United States, and now Internationally.

The original camp, organized at Georgia Tech. Level 1 teaches the Snap! visual programming language. The key computational concepts are introduced, using a small robot (“Karel the Robot”) navigating in a grid world. Completing Level 1 also prepares the participants for Level 2.

This camp is intended for high school students interested in computer science and engineering who have no or minimal background in data science and computer programming. The camp only requires participants to use a browser and have the desire to learn computational and data science through meaningful and exciting applications, in machine learning, optimization, computational social science, and genomics.
